Onshore Terminal

Johan Castberg Oil Field located in the Norwegian sector of the Barents Sea, inside the Arctic circle approximately 240 km North West of Hammerfest is under planning by Statoil. The production License is operated by Statoil Petroleum AS, and the license owners are Statoil, ENI Norge AS and Petoro.

After the conceptual phase, Statoil decided to proceed with the chosen concept on connecting a Floating Production Unit (FPU) with a 280 km pipeline to an onshore terminal at Veidnes in Nordkapp municipality. This will be the first onshore oil terminal in North Norway.

Scope of work

Multiconsult has performed a Concept Study for the Onshore Oil Terminal, with Kværner Engineering AS as an integrated subcontractor. The Concept Study includes a location study, feasibility study (Class B) and concept study (Class C) as well as preparation for the documents required for the Authority handling of the onshore project.
