We have one of Norway's largest and leading professional communities within mapping and action assessments for contaminated soil and seabed.

Environmental geology deals with the natural environment and the impact of pollution in the ground. Solid theoretical knowledge and extensive experience enable Multiconsult's environmental geologists to solve problems related to pollution from, among other things, industry, mining, storage and distribution of oil products, waste landfills, transportation projects, airports and defense facilities.

We assist both large and small projects with advice from the early stages, through mapping and action planning to the follow-up of construction work and implementation of measures.

We carry out initial surveys, field investigations, prepare action plans that include risk assessments if necessary, assist with applications to relevant authorities and prepare final documentation.

Older waste landfills or landfills for mining waste can have a major impact on the environment and people. We have extensive experience in mapping landfill gas and leachate, risk assessment of the use of areas affected by landfills and assessment of measures to safeguard both health and the environment.

Handling acute situations
Unfortunately, incidents (e.g. emissions) occur at irregular intervals that constitute acute environmental and health damage. In such cases, it is safe to know that we can quickly assist with expertise that can limit the extent of damage. Through years of experience, we have good insight into intervention methods and damage limitation and can assist in processes with pollution authorities.
