Good ground investigations are the cornerstone of the safety and successful completion of construction projects. By thoroughly mapping ground conditions, potential risks such as subsidence, landslides and earthquake hazards can be identified, which is crucial to protecting both people and the structures they use.

Multiconsult is one of the country's leading players in onshore ground surveys with a total of 15 geotechnical drilling rigs, hybrid rigs, and derricks stationed throughout the country.

All drilling rigs perform standard geotechnical ground investigations and are equipped to perform total soundings, rotary pressure soundings, sampling with cylinder and bag samples, pressure soundings (CPTU), wing drilling and installation of pore pressure meters.

In addition, we have a special rig for taking samples in demanding ground conditions (SONIC) - which can also perform core drilling in rock. With our free-standing drilling derricks, which can be mounted on several different platforms (excavator, tractor etc.), there are few areas that are not accessible.

We deliver geotechnical reports and data reports, input and basis for geotechnical reports and geotechnical assessments, consulting and design. This also applies to civil geology and environmental geology.

Reducing risk with Sonic drilling rig

Insufficient information about ground conditions increases the risk of construction stoppages, delays and unforeseen costs. A new type of Sonic drilling rig will be able to provide verified and decisive knowledge, not least where conventional drilling rigs cannot reach.

Sustainability

Our hybrid drilling rigs are designed for hybrid operation (electricity + diesel). The engine uses biodiesel (HVO100) and meets the requirements of Euro class 6. The rigs have set a new standard when it comes to options for emission-free ground surveys.

The world's first battery-powered ground survey was conducted by Multiconsult with our first hybrid drilling rig in the fall of 2022.

Our drill leaders have up to 30 years of experience as ground drillers and have performed drilling in all types of terrain and conditions. In addition, we have a drill leader forum that brings together expertise across the country and ensures that we are constantly up to date with the latest developments in the field.

Our employees are NS 8020 certified ground drillers.
