Reduces uncertainty

Through advanced testing and investigations, geotechnical laboratories can identify potential risks, optimize foundation designs, and contribute to sustainable solutions, making them indispensable in meeting the demands of both small and large infrastructure projects.

Multiconsult has over 50 years of experience in geotechnical laboratory investigations. Our geotechnical laboratory equipment, quality system and software are continuously being upgraded.

Geotechnical laboratories play a crucial role in modern engineering and construction. They provide accurate analyses of soil and bedrock conditions, which are essential to ensure stability and safety in construction projects.

Our geotechnical laboratory is fully digital, and all measurements and calculations are stored and processed in a custom-made data processing database. This allows us to quickly share information about the samples during the project if desired.

Many of our employees have extensive experience in geotechnical laboratory work and high expertise in the analysis of loose materials, such as quicklime, clay, silt, sand, gravel and stone.

In addition to routine investigations, we perform grain gradation analysis, plasticity limit, humus content and grain density. We also have extensive experience in special tests and perform a number of test methods: static/cyclic triaxial tests, oedometer tests (CRS, IL), bending element and static/cyclic DSS.

The laboratory also offers testing of concrete and stone materials. We perform, among other things, pressure testing and density measurement of concrete, grain size distribution curves, Micro-Daval, Los Angeles and chloride in concrete dust.

Quality

Laboratory tests are performed and reported in accordance with ISO standards/ASTM, and the results are presented in a clear report, which forms the basis for further advice and design for specialists in relevant fields. Our laboratory analyses form the basis for documentation of area stability with regard to quick clay, local stability of slopes, frost hazard of loose materials and settlement potential, etc.

Our consultants place great emphasis on good knowledge of government requirements for documentation and quality assurance. We use routines and checklists that ensure that our deliveries satisfy both the customer's expectations and needs, and the government's requirements. The laboratory is certified by the Norwegian Control Council in accordance with the Norwegian Control Council's "Technical provisions for class H - Laboratories" in class H1 - Testing laboratory within test areas AI, AII and PI, as well as geotechnics.

Environment

We take the environment seriously and source-separate all waste and continuously work on work processes to reduce water consumption and energy. We also have our own Environmental Lighthouse approval for laboratories.

Efficiency

At our laboratory, we are committed to keeping analysis times to a minimum so that we can deliver results to our customers as quickly as possible, while maintaining quality. The laboratory has great capacity and extensive experience working with large-scale projects.

We emphasize flexibility in implementation and are happy to have close contact with our customers to adjust the scope of analysis along the way so that the customer gets the best possible result from the samples received. We also offer express analyses that can shorten waiting times in projects or in case of acute incidents.
