Both internationally and in Norway, solar power is the fastest growing energy source and an increasingly important part of energy systems. It is a mature technology that does not require a large space to produce electricity. Solar power can be installed where the energy is to be consumed - on buildings, industrial areas and along roads and railways. The power is generated locally and does not need to be transported over long distances. Power production that is not used can be stored in various types of battery solutions.

  • Our expertise includes both surface-mounted solar panels on roofs, Building Adapted Photo Voltaic (BAPV), and in the facade, Building Integrated Photo Voltaic (BIPV).

    Within BIPV, we have leading advisors, including a PhD in facade-integrated solar panels that replace the facade material in addition to producing electricity.

  • We deliver solutions for ground-mounted and floating solar power in all phases of a project, and in all disciplines, both in Norway and internationally. This can include screening and early phase assessments of an area, profitability calculations, assessment of solar power potential, design, engineering, impact assessments, license applications, geotechnical assessments, solution design, project management, etc.

  • Solar power only produces energy when it is light and the excess power is often fed into the grid. Therefore, local energy production in combination with local energy storage systems, such as batteries, can be a good technical and economic solution. If the building or area has local energy storage systems, thermal or electrical, the solar power can be stored locally and used later.

    Lack of capacity on the grid, or if a local energy system is completely dependent on a battery to function. Multiconsult has expertise in storage systems and batteries.

  • It is important to consider the entire energy system, whether in a building or in an area.
