In many contexts, the feasibility study is also referred to as a concept selection study, development assessment and alternative assessment. The purpose of a feasibility study is to prepare a sufficient basis for further decisions by the client. The result will highlight the framework conditions and alternatives with associated cost estimates.
Common to the feasibility studies is that the disciplines usually, depending on the client's wishes, prepare cost estimates with associated uncertainty levels for the individual alternatives in the feasibility study. The level of precision is controlled by the client's level of ambition.
