About the hospital
Hammerfest Hospital is a local hospital for the population of West Finnmark. The hospital offers emergency medicine, surgery, orthopedics, internal medicine, gynecology/obstetrics, ear, nose and throat, eye, pediatrics and child rehabilitation. The hospital is four stories high, has 87 beds, several operating rooms, outpatient and special rooms, delivery rooms and beds in a patient hotel.
The hospital was completed in 2024 with trial operation and will officially open in 2025.
Project Description
The hospital's location, orientation and landscape design are based on assessments of local climate, wind directions and access to light. In the detailed project, Multiconsult Norge AS is responsible for the design of all external infrastructure, geotechnical and sea protection measures, and structural works. LINK arkitektur is responsible for architectural services in the project.
Multiconsult, LINK Arkitektur and Norconsult also participated, together with Consto, in the preliminary design for the new Hammerfest hospital.
